‘Ello, PNWonderland! After a lengthy day of traveling I, along with my comrades, made it to the grand ol’ city of Portland, Oregon. First thing on the docket – take the last train for the coast! (We drove a vehicle, but I don’t know any songs about that.) My first venture into pacific northwestern wilderness was truly magnificent. Foggy mountains, towering trees of the coniferous variety, and windy roads led to the Oregon coastline – Cannon Beach, specifically. Haystack Rock was bigger and better than imagined! The Pacific Ocean is one chilly broad but a lovely dame she is, too. Spending the day frolicking around among the other selfie stick fanatics and tennis ball fetching pups was terribly enjoyable. After beach bumming, we went to a nearby fish market to purchase supper. Fresh seafood this close to the ocean – that’s the stuff.
Today is Sunday, and I’ll be watching a half marathon with a Voodoo doughnut briefly in my hand. Also, there is rain. Cheerio, lads and lasses!
Been there, done that. Wish I could have been with you, however. The Pacific Northwest, one of the most beautiful pieces of God’s creation and a place I truly miss.
